Becoming a Moniba Scholar

The foundation will be providing scholarships to graduating high school seniors in the country who have demonstrated the ability and drive to succeed in college.  A student’s grade point average, keen interest in pursuing a career in public service, Statement of Purpose and Letters of Recommendation will be the determining factors as to whether or not he or she will be offered assistance.  Winners of the Moniba Scholarship will receive full tuition and books requirements.  In return, scholarship recipients will be required to maintain a college GPA of 3.2. Secondly, the HFMF will require that all Moniba Scholars commit four days a month (two hours each visit), volunteering their time at an elementary or middle school in mentoring roles.

SCHOLARSHIP OBJECTIVE

  • To find committed and gifted Liberian students who have a strong desire to attend and succeed in college.
  • To help foster an academic foundation for which students can build upon.
  • To impact Liberia in a positive manner by helping to educate its youth.
  • To provide Liberian students with hope and an alternative to the limited options they now face.
